Deacon Anthony Porcaro, T. O. Carm. was ordained a Permanent Deacon for the Archdiocese of Newark by the Most Rev. Thomas A. Donato, Auxiliary Bishop of Newark, on May 21, 2011. Deacon Tony was received into the Carmelite Third Order on September 14, 2002 and was Perpetually Professed on September 11, 2004. The Porcaros have been parishioners at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish since 1994. His responsibilities at the parish include coordinating the Baptism ministry and the R.C.I.A program. He also works with the youth of the parish who are preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. He has served in the past as a catechist, eucharistic minister and lector. He is a 1988 graduate from Seton Hall University’s W. Paul Stillman School of Business, earning a B.S. degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting and a minor in philosophy. In 1991 he graduated from Seton Hall University’s School of Law earning a J.D. degree. He is a 1997 graduate of New York University School of Law where he received his LLM (Masters of Law) degree in Taxation. Deacon Tony is also the recipient of a Graduate Certificate in Religious Education from Felician College.
